What type of network card and cable do I need for ResNet?

You can use any 10 Base T, 10/100 Base T, or 10/100/1000 Base T network interface card (NIC) installed in your computer. Most newer computers come with a built-in network adapter so be sure to check before you buy a card.

For cabling, you need a category 5e, 6, or 6e Ethernet cable to connect to the outlet in your room. Do not buy a "crossover" cable which are designed for different types of connectivity and won't work to connect to ResNet.
