If you are trying to play audio on your PC, but no sound is coming from the speakers, check the following things:
1. Volume
Make sure that the volume is not muted anywhere you can control it. This includes 1) PC volume, 2) touch panel volume (if applicable), 3) wall panel volume (if applicable), and 4) media player volume (YouTube, VLC, etc.).
2. Loose cables
Check to make sure that the audio cable hasn’t been disconnected from the PC. A standard audio cable will look something like this, and should be plugged into a green port on the back of the PC:
3. Proper playback device
Your PC may have several audio playback devices available, so you’ll need to check to make sure the correct one is selected. To do this, first search for “sound” in the bottom-left search bar, then click the Sound (Control Panel) result.
Once you’re in the Sounds menu, click on the “Playback” tab to see a list of all your available devices. The correct option varies from classroom to classroom, but the most common two are “Speakers/Headphones” and “Crestron.” If you have a green checkmark on something else, highlight the correct device and click the “Set Default” button at the bottom of the window.
