This room is equipped with a Revolabs xTag wireless microphone. You can use this microphone to record your lectures, or use it to speak to your remote students. Though the operation of the microphone is simple, there are few things to keep in mind about using it.

Charging: The xTag has a rechargeable battery that lasts for around eight hours on a full charge. It takes around two hours to fully recharge, but can get up to about 80% in 45 minutes. A red light will appear on top of the microphone while charging, and will turn green when fully charged.

The microphone cannot be used while charging.

Muting/Unmuting: When the microphone is removed from the charging base, it will be muted by default (indicated by a flashing red light on top). Simply press the button on the microphone itself to unmute it (the flashing light will turn green). The same button will mute the microphone if pressed again.

Setting as the audio input: To use the xTag microphone in a program (Kaltura Classroom, Webex Meetings, etc.), it will need to be selected as the audio input device. When you choose your audio input device, make sure you select “Revolabs xTag.” You’ll also want to make sure it’s not selected as the speaker or audio output device.
