Problem: My remote students can’t hear me
- Make sure the correct device (HoverCam, USB webcam, Revolabs xTag, etc.) is set as the current audio input device
- If using a Revolabs xTag lapel microphone, make sure it’s unmuted, indicated by flashing green lights on top (if flashing red, push the button to unmute
- Make sure you’re not muted in the software (Kaltura Classroom, Webex Meetings, etc.)
- Check the cable connection between your device and the PC
Problem: My remote students can’t see me
- Make sure the correct device (HoverCam, USB webcam, ceiling-mounted camera) is set as the current video device
- Make sure your camera is turned on in the software (Kaltura classroom, Webex Meetings, etc.)
- Check the cable connection between your device and the PC
- Make sure your camera isn’t currently being used in another program. Sometimes, a program like Kaltura Classroom will start up in the background, and it will “grab” the camera before your preferred program can.
Problem: I can’t hear my remote students

Make sure the volume is turned up. There are a number of places to check the volume:
- PC volume, located in the bottom-right corner of the screen
- Room audio volume, perhaps controlled by a button panel or touch panel in the room
- Program volume, located in the audio settings in Webex Meetings
- If you can’t hear one specific student, have them make sure they’re not muted

Make sure the correct device (usually “Speakers/Headphones”) is selected as the current audio output device
- Sometimes the Revolabs xTag microphones show up as the default speaker, so be sure to change that
