Some students will believe they've submitted a file to TurnItIn but have only attached the file to the assignment. This is due to some students mistaking the "review attachment" screen as a "submission complete" screen, since it shows the attached paper. After this screen appears students must then click "submit" or else no document is turned in for the assignment.

After uploading a document, students will see this page: 



This is not a confirmation that the assignment has been submitted, only that the file has been attached. Students still need to click Confirm at the bottom of the page. When an assignment is successfully submitted to TurnItIn it will generate a submission receipt will be emailed to the student. The sender should be noreply@turnitin.com and the subject should be This is your TurnItIn Digital Receipt. We recommend that students verify that this receipt appears in their inbox before considering their assignment to be successfully submitted. In the event that an error occurs this receipt will help prove that the assignment was submitted.
