1. Click into your Bb course shell.


2.  Click the Groups tab at the top:



3.  Click the New Group Set link in the upper right corner:



4.  Give the group set a name:



5.  Now you can create the groups within this group set.  There are some options available depending on your needs:




6. Custom allows you to manually create the groups, and assign students to the groups.  Randomly assign does just that.  It automatically creates a number of groups and randomly assigns students to them.  Self-enrollment creates the groups automatically, and students can choose which group they want to be in.


7.  For the purposes of this "how to", I clicked Custom.


8.  Now click the little + sign at the bottom of the page to create your groups:




9.  Give the group a name:




10. Assign students to the group by clicking the ellipse to the right of the student's name and then clicking on the group you want to put this student in:




11.  Now you can observe the group at the bottom of the page, and you will see the student is now in that group:



12.  Be sure to click Save in the lower right corner to keep the changes:





13.  Now if you click on the Groups tab at the top of your course you will see the group set you created.  You can click the V at the right to expand open the set and see the groups:
