The Office of Information Systems is aware of a reported issue with Xbox consoles connecting to the wireless. The issue is that the Xbox sometimes does not respond properly to a request from the wireless access point during the connection process. We are currently working with our vendor to determine a resolution for this.
This issue causes problems with the initial connection to the wireless network and results in intermittent issues getting connected. Trying to connect multiple times in a row will eventually succeed. If you can get the device connected, it should work fine until the device is turned off or otherwise disconnected.
The best workaround at this time is to connect the Xbox via the wired port using an ethernet cable. Every dorm room has an in-room access point with wired connection ports on the bottom of the unit.
