In order to make Chrome the default Windows 10 browser, it must already be installed on your computer. If needed, you can download Chrome from Google’s Chrome web site.
  • Once the Chrome installation has completed, in Windows 10 click or tap the Start button, and choose Settings.

  • Click the System icon.

  • In the left navigation, click Default apps. Under Choose default apps, scroll down to Web browser. Click Choose a default to add a browser, or click the web browser that is already selected to change it.

  • Scroll down the list of installed web browsers. Click on Chrome to set it as the new default web browser.

Note: If the change does not take effect, try logging into your computer as an administrator to modify the default web browser.
