Here is a quick run down of how to get to our ATU Virtual Desktop Client Environment.

You will need to install the VMware Horizon Client from the Google Chrome store. Click here to be redirected to install the VMware Horizon Client for Google Chromebooks. Below is a screenshot of the what you should see after clicking the link.
- Once you are there you will need to click on ADD TO CHROME. Below is a screenshot of what you see and what to click on.
- Next the Google Chrome will prompt you want you allow access to the camera, microphone, and other peripherals that are connected to your Google Chromebook so the Windows 11 virtual desktop can use them as well. Just click ADD APP there. Below is a screenshot of that screen you will see for reference.
- Next Go to your Launcher in the bottom left hand corner of your screen. You should see a circle icon. When you click this you will see the apps you have installed your Google Chromebook. Click on the VMware Horizon Client. Below is a screenshot of what you might see in your Launcher.
- Inside the client app you will see a + sign to add a connection and then will see a screen wanting the connection address. In that address box you will want type in vdesktops.atu.edu in that field and then leave the optional field empty. Then click connect. See screenshot below.
- Next you will need to place your ATU username and Password in the required field and click login.
- Duo Mobile possibly with ask you to authenticate with you there with either a 1 for a Duo Push or 2 for a code.
- Then you will want to choose the Remote_Students desktop to gain access to the Windows 11 computer in the client app.
- Remember when doing work inside the client virtual environment to always save data to the U drive or the OneDrive.
