The below article has also been tested inside Office 2021 and can be done the exact same way.

To recover a corrupt Word file, please do the following:

• Open Word and then open a blank Word document.

• Choose your corrupt Word file, click on Insert and then click on OK. Now, see if it is able to insert the contents into the new document.
