Documents are stored in the ApplicationXtender system by unique key value. This value is comprised of information the user supplies when the user indexes a document. Most commonly the values used to make up the unique key are the ID (T-Number), Last Name (which will be populated automatically after entering the ID) and the Document Type.

Let's say you index a College Transcript for the student Inigo Montoya whose T-Number is T00000001. 

The first document you index will save successfully. If you try to index another document for the same student with the same Document Type you will receive the above error. To successfully save the second document, enter the information normally and them preform the following steps.

  • Click the Select Index button

  • Select the Index by clicking anywhere on the row and then click Attach
